Overview

Our corporate training programs are ideal for employers wishing to see how prospective or existing staff members act in team settings. The participants are given tasks that require innovation, creativity, logic, planning and teamwork to complete. Communication and leadership are essential for the programs to be successfully completed as the challenges will draw upon different participant’s strengths.

The programs are compatible with the Myer Briggs and similar personality tests. The practical setting of the programs gives further insight into the results obtained from the tests and demonstrates how different personality types interact. For example: in the group setting people are more susceptible to agree with the popular opinion of the group due to a need to be confident that ones opinion is right. Without a practical setting it can only be speculated as to which participants will conform to group ideas and which ones will take charge and initiate them. Employers are able to nominate which participants will be group leaders or assign different roles, or alternatively the participants can simply be given a task and the development of group dynamics can be observed. The programs can be tailored for different group sizes and numbers of groups.

As well as been an excellent medium to test participant's ability to work in teams and under the stress of time constraints the programs are also an ideal bonding exercise. People are reluctant to interact fully and express themselves to their creative potential when in a group of people they are unfamiliar with. To maximize productivity in the workplace staff members have to be comfortable working with each other. The programs present a scenario where participants can freely bond with one another. This is more effective than a standard workplace setting as the challenges presented to the participants not only require teamwork but are also entertaining and engaging, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere where participants feel comfortable to interact.

Materials

We use a wide variety of equipment ranging from modular construction platforms to electronics to household recyclable goods. The platform used depends on the challenge the participants are tasked with. The equipment is highly flexible and can all be integrated with one another.

Examples of Challenges:

1. The group is given the task to design a robot capable of tying and untying a shoelace. The team is given a budget and size/aesthetic specifications.

2. A production line needs to be assembled that is capable of picking up an object and placing it in the correct fashion into its packaging. The machine has to be reliable in its operations and a items packed per time restriction is given

The possibilities for different challenges are endless and we encourage discussion so the best possible scenario can be arranged for your needs.
